JAMMU, June 4: Shaurya International School (SIS) celebrated World Bicycle Day to promote fitness, sustainability and community engagement. The chief guest of the event was Harinder Mahajan, Chairman, Shaurya International School. Sahil Mahajan, vice-chairman also graced the occasion.
The track race covering 5 Km distance to and fro from the school playground to the Army area was organized in which parents, teachers and students participated. One of the highlights of the event was the announcement of exciting prizes for participants.
In Grade 1 and 2, Akshit Bishnoi of Grade 1-C got first position and Pravnoor Kour of Grade 1-C stood second. In the Sub Junior Category, Raghav Bhagat of Grade 4B secured first position while Joydeep Singh of Grade 5A and Rishal Singh of Grade 4B got second and third positions respectively.
In the junior category, Manjoy Singh of Grade 7A secured first position while Vedant of Grade 8C and Satyam of Grade 6B achieved second and third positions respectively. In the senior category, M Kavin Mani of Grade 11 A secured first position while Devansh Singh of Grade 9C and Arnav Mishra of Grade 9A achieved second and third positions respectively. In the category of Parents, Pawan Kumar secured first position, Deepak Bishnoi stood second and D.S. Chahal managed to get third position.
Chief guest, Harinder Mahajan asserted that World Bicycle Day has provided a perfect opportunity to come together, celebrating the joy of cycling and reaffirming the dedication to environmental stewardship while Vice-Chairman Sahil Mahajan extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participants. Principal of the School, Dr Rajesh Gandral highlighted the significance of cycling for personal health and the environment.
