JAMMU, Mar 19: IRP 10th Battalion Jammu organized a Civic Action Programme at Government Primary School Pacca Talab, Bahu Fort, here today.
Prominent citizens including Corporators and the members of Beopar Mandal alongwith the students and the staff members of the School participated in the programme.
As a gesture of goodwill, school bags, notebooks and other stationery items were distributed among the students of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhyan Chand extended thanks to the Police Department for organizing this event which is a positive step to bridge the gap between Police and Public and to bring the people closer to the Police.
Dr Kiran Gupta, Vice Principal, HSS Bahu Fort and Santokh Singh ZEO Gandhi Nagar expressed their gratitude to Police Department for organizing the programme for the welfare of the students of this School.
Sham Sunder Sharma, SSP APCR Jammu also spoke on the occasion.
He stressed upon the teachers to impart quality education and inculcate the competitive spirit among the students to make them responsible citizens.
Vijay Kumar, Commandant IRP 10th Battalion in his address stressed upon the participants to join Civic Action Programmes with enthusiasm and zeal.
He informed that during the colonial period, there was fear of Police in the minds of people, but now we live in a democratic country where rights of the citizens are protected and equality and justice prevails.
He said the only purpose of such programmes is to bring Public closer to the Police to have a crime free, safe and secure society.
