HC stays eviction of students from Blind School

JAMMU, Mar 19: High Court today directed the Government not to disturb the stay of the blind students in the Home for Blind.
The direction was passed in a petition filed by seven visually impaired persons seeking quashment of Govt Order No 60-SWD issued by Commissioner Secretary whereby Rule 13 has been amended to fix the stay of an inmate in the blind school till graduation or attaining 25 years of age. The petitioners termed the amended Rule 13 as illegal.
After hearing Advocate SS Ahmed with Advocate Suraj Singh for the petitioner, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir issued notice to respondents.
