JAMMU, Mar 19: Workers of the Dogra Front and Shiv Sena under the leadership of Ashok Gupta took out a procession in Jammu city against the CAPD Department for their alleged failure to supply ration in time by holding empty utensils in their hands.
To highlight the alleged negligence, irregularities and irresponsible attitude in making the proper ration distribution and keeping the genuine BPL card holders away from their allotted ration quota, a large number of registered consumers held a protest demonstration against Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department.
While expressing their resentment against the CAPD Department, the people charged its officials including AD Food, TSO and even the dealers with pasting the APL status on the BPL ration cards with an objective to sideline the innocent and poor families from the advantages of BPL quota. They demanded a high level inquiry into the misplacing of BPL ration quota which is not being distributed among the BPL families.
While speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that the department of CAPD has been taking such decisions which instead of providing any relief to the poor population, has been creating more problems for the already suffering people. He said that while the poor consumers are already suffering on account of bringing down of ration scale through ration depots, CAPD has now also brought down the quantity of kerosene oil.
