Annual Sports Meet concludes at Dogra College of Education

JAMMU, Mar 19: On the concluding day of the 20th Annual Sports Meet, the Valedictory Function was held at Dogra College of Education, here today.
During the week-long meet various sports events were organized.
In Sack Race for girls, Anita Sharma stood first, while Rimpy Bala and Romi Verma claimed second and third positions respectively.
In the Three-Leg Race for girls, Roshi Dabgotra and Neelu Rani bagged gold medal, Manjula Bogal and Pooja Verma got silver, while Pooja Sharma and Geeta Sharma claimed bronze.
In the One-Leg Race for girls, Roshi Dabgotra clinched first position, while Anita Sharma and Pooja Sharma remained at second and third spot respectively.
In the Matka Race for girls, Deepika bagged gold, while Simple Saini and Neelu Rani bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Shot Put for boys, Liyaquat Ali bagged gold, while Surat Singh and Sushil Kumar claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the High Jump for boys, Surat Singh claimed first position, Sukhdev stood second and Amandeep remained at the third spot.
In the Long Jump for boys, Sukhdev clinched gold, while Surat Singh and Mohit Slathia claimed silver and bronze  respectively.
In the 100 Mts Sprint for boys, Amardeep stood first, Liyaquat Ali stood second, while Surat Singh remained at the third spot.
In Shot Put for girls, Simple Saini bagged gold, while Richa Khajuria and Pooja Verma shared the silver and Vidushi had to satisfy herself with a bronze.
In Discus Throw for girls, Neha Khajuria got first position, Simple Saini bagged second spot, while Sonia Sharma claimed third place.
In Long Jump for girls, Richa Khajuria bagged gold, while Shivani Sharma and Pooja Verma bagged silver and bronze medals respectively.
In the High Jump for girls, Ankita Sharma stood first, Shivani Sharma stood second, while Pooja Verma claimed third place.
In 100 Mts Race for girls, Geeta Sharma bagged gold, while Ankita Sharma and Pooja Jamwal claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
In badminton girls doubles, Tanuja and Aprajita were declared winners while Neelu and Pooja emerged runners-up.
In badminton girls’ singles, Tanuja clinched the title and Shallu was declared as runners-up.
In Carrom mixed doubles, Mohit and Sukhdev were declared as winners, while Neelu and Shallu emerged runners-up and in Carrom girls singles, Divya bagged gold, while Sandhu Manhas was declared as runners-up. In Table Tennis boys’ doubles, Surat and Raman were declared as winners, while Ankush and Sukhdev were runners-up.
In the Table Tennis girls doubles, Divya and Shallu were declared as winners while Simple Saini and Manjula Bagal emerged as runners-up.
In Kho-Kho, Neha Warriors led by Neha defeated Shivani Daredevils to clinch the title, while in the Inter-Section Tug of War girls, Tawi House headed by Rajni Kumari beat Ganga House led by Mehak Ahuja to clinch the title.
The activities were held under the guidance of Yogesh Manhas, Sports Officer, Sumer Singh Sambyal, Convenor  Sports Committee and Shamsher Singh, Member Sports Committee.
Th Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister J&K Government and Chairman Dogra Education Trust was the chief guest on the occasion who highly applauded the efforts put in by the participants.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Prof B D Damral, Shefali Sharma and Bela Thakur were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Bela Thakur presented the welcome address while camp report was delivered by Yogesh Manhas.
The winners of the various activities were felicitated on the occasion.
