Delhi Wrestler Jonty lifts 14th Battal Ballian Dangal title

UDHAMPUR, June 11: Wrestler Jonty of Guru Hanuman Akhara Delhi lifted 14th Annual Battal Ballian (Udhampur) Dangal title 2024 by defeating Benia Min of J&K Police in the first malli bout that lasted for 22 minutes.
Winner Jonty was awarded with cash prize of Rs 1.50 lakh while runner-up wrestler Benian Min got Rs 1, 00,000 Vishal Dangal was organized by Battal Ballian Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of Deep Singh (Pinka).
In the 2nd main bout which was won by Ishaq Ahmed (Lallu) of J&K Police. Winner Lallu was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 60,000 while runner-up Wrestler Mir Mohd of Iran got Rs 40,000. Third malli bout was fought between Babba of Kot Bhalwal and Nadeem of J&K Police, which ended in a draw.
Bouts played between Neeru Gujjar of BSF of Chandigarh and Mam Hussain of Domail, Krishan of Delhi and Kharpu of Jammu and Muneer of J&K Police against Gora of Ajnala (Punjab) ended in a draw. Amir Khan of J&K Police beat Abhishek of Delhi.
Former Minister of Pawan Kumar Gupta was chief guest while former MLA RS Pathania and chief spokesperson BJP was the guests of honour. Former Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council and President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma presided over the function.
In all 70 bouts were played in the dangal and Rs 6 lakh was distributed as cash prizes among the wrestlers.
