Simula Club, Samar Club log wins

JAMMU, Mar 21: Simula Cricket Club and Samar Cricket Club registered convincing victories in the ongoing 2nd Christmas T20 Cricket Cup, being organized jointly by Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Christian Sports Organization J&K at KC Sports Club Ground, here.
In the first match, Simula Cricket Club thrashed SKPA Udhampur by a huge margin of 107 runs.
Batting first, Simula Cricket Club made a mammoth total of 209 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Atul top scored with 61 runs in 41 balls, while Puneet contributed 37 runs off 13 balls. Prince and Nasir chipped in with 17 runs each. Javed and Arif took 2 each for SKPA, while RC Kotwal, Jagpal and Sofi Javed shared one wicket each.
In reply, SKPA bundled out for 102 runs, thus lost the match bya big margin of 107 runs. Javed, Naresh Singh and Majid contributed 33, 18 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For Simula Club, Hilal Rather and Sameer took 3 wickets each, while Prince, Nasir, Vivek and Shashi claimed one wicket each. Atul was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, Samar Club defeated Sai Cricket Club by 8 wickets.
Batting first, Sai Cricket Club scored 98 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 15 overs. Vinay and Veeru contributed 24 and 21 runs to the total, while Mintu chipped in with 10 runs. Kaka took 3 wickets, while Sourav and KK shared one wicket each.
In reply, Samar Cricket Club chased the target in 13.4 overs. Chetan scored unbeaten 49 runs, while Jasvinder and Amrit contributed 14 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Mintu and Sonu took 1 wicket each for Sai Club. Chetan was adjudged man of the match.
The match was officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman, Suhail Yousuf, Rakul Mattoo, Sadiq Hussain and Vinod Kandyara.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of the Shakeel Beig, DIG Jammu, while the other organizing committee members include Rajnish Pran, SP SO to DIG; Hilal Rather, MD Simula Group; Prashant Mahajan and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officers, Victor Sotra, vice president CSO, Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Sunny Gill and William Mattoo.
“Simula Club will take on KC Sports Club at 3 pm at the same venue tomorrow,” informed Rajesh Gill, organizing secretary.
