Ritvik, Mishti lift Men-Women singles title

1st J&K UT Table Tennis C’ship 2024

JAMMU, June 15: Ritvik Gupta defeated Pratham Raina by 3-2 in the finals of the Men’s singles, whereas Mishti Aggarwal emerged winner in Women’s final by defeating Nitya Arora by 3-2 here today.
The Men’s final was a close contest with both the players giving all they had but Ritvik Gupta won the championship by 3-2. Earlier in the Men’s semi finals Maanay gave a tough resistance to Ritvik but finally went down by 3-1. In the other semi finals Pratham defeated Ritvik Gupta (Sr) by 3-0.
Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council J&K was the chief guest who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners. He assured the association all help for uplifting the game of Table Tennis in the Union Territory.
The tournament was organised by J&K Table Tennis Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under their initiative “My Youth My Pride.”
The results were in Hops Boys final (Under-11) Winners; Saiyam Nischal while in Girls Syrah Dewan, Cadet Boys (Under 13) Winner- Saiyam, Cadet Girls (Under 13) Winner- Myrah Dewan, Sub Junior Boys (Under 15) Winner- Ritvik Gupta, Sub Junior Boys (Under 15) Winner- Nitya Arora and Jr Girls (Under 17) Winner- Nitya Arora. In junior boys (U-17 and U-19) winner was Ritvik Gupta while in girls Nitya Arora. Men’s final winner Ritivk Gupta while in Women’s final winner was Mishti Aggarwal.
Maanay Mansotra was awarded as the best player of the tournament. Prominent among present were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, I.P Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Sanjay Gupta, Rajan Sharma, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh, Maninder Singh, Sheetal Gandotra & Meenu Rajesh.
