JAMMU, June 15: A woman died today due to suspected poisoning in a village under the jurisdiction of Police Station RS Pura.
“Fifty-five year old Garo Devi wife of Om Parkash, a resident of Flora was shifted to Community Health Centre (CHC) RS Pura after she allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at her residence,” police sources said.
They said after providing initial treatment, the woman was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu as her condition was critical. However, the woman died at about 2:15 PM while undergoing treatment at GMCH Jammu.
RS Pura police had initiated inquest proceedings in this connection while the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem.
