JAMMU, Mar 22: Range Police Jammu today organized a seminar and road safety rally in Bari Brahmana, under Civic Action Programme, here today.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range flagged off road safety rally in an impressive and well attended function.
Large number of the students from various schools of Bari Brahmana areas participated in the rally.
The rally was followed by seminar on road safety. Ravi Kant Sharma, SP Traffic Rural Jammu also attended the rally.
DIG Jammu while speaking on the occasion said that precious lives are lost due to road accidents especially from Bari Brahmana to Kathua and many of tragedies can be averted if the traffic rules are followed strictly.
While cautioning the students, DIG Jammu said that students have been especially involved with a view that every child has say in his/her family and they can better persuade their parents / brothers to use ISI helmets while driving two wheelers and to follow traffic rules strictly as it is beneficial for them only and not to others.
DIG Jammu further said that every citizen should feel their responsibility and should not allow the drivers of vehicles to use mobile phone or play CD players while driving the vehicles. He said that over-speeding, overloading, drunken driving and fatigue etc are the basic reasons for accidents.
DIG Jammu was accompanied by Rajnesh Pran, SP Staff Officer to DIG Jammu, Suram Singh Additional SP Samba, Parshotam Lal Sharma, DDP Range Police Headquarters, Sajjad Salaria, SDPO Bari Brahmana and Prashant Mahajan, Chief Prosecuting Officer RPHQ Jammu.
DIG Jammu also gave away the trophies to Aditya Yadav student of Humanity Public School, Heena Bali student Hr. Secondary School Vijaypur and Anu Radha of Humanity Public school who were declared Ist, 2nd and 3rd in the debate context for delivering best speeches on the topic.
