JAMMU, Mar 22: The residential refresher course for Physical Education Teachers and Physical Education Masters of Jammu Division, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports concluded at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here today. Director General Youth Services and Sports, Navin Agarwal was the chief guest on the occasion.
Similar course was also conducted simultaneously at College of Physical Education in Ganderbal in Kashmir Division.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Agarwal expressed happiness over the successful conduct of the course.
He hoped that this course surely must have added to the knowledge of PETs and PEMs and they will pass on these techniques to the school children in their respective schools.
He further said that our PETs and PEMs have undergone technical courses long back and this camp was aimed to refresh them and also to boost their physical fitness.
Besides, major games, new games adopted by the School Games Federation of India were also included in the course. The training was imparted by the experts of the department and Lectures on sports medicine etc were also arranged from Sports Associations and allied agencies. He lauded the efforts of trainers particularly Camp Co-ordinater, Mushtaq Ahmad, Assistant Professor, Government College of Physical Education Ganderbal with whose efforts, the course was successful.
He also agreed to continue these type of courses in future also and assured to extend the duration of the course as was suggested by various PETs/PEMs who attended the course.
Earlier, Mushtaq Ahmad Asstt. Professor and Camp Coordinator in his welcome address thanked DG Youth Services & Sports for organizing this course and gave away the details of training imparted during the camp.
