Iranian wrestler wins 95th Ramkote Kesri title

KATHUA, June 20: The 95th Ramkote Kesri title was won by Iranian wrestler Mirza today after he defeated Parveen from Kohali Akhada in the final. The Dangal Committee hosted the event in Ramkote, here today.
The prize money of Rs 200,000 was awarded to the champion by the chief guest Satish Sharma, a senior leader of BJP and Gushu Malaysia. BDC Abay Khajuria and former Sarpanch Pardeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
The historical dangal has been organized every year ever since 1930 in which 55 bouts were decided in the day-long Dangal in presence of huge crowds. The second main bout was between Benia JKP Jammu and Pushpinder Alamgir of Indian Navy for Rs 150000 which was won by a JKP wrestler. The third bout was won by Shiva of Maharashtra who received an amount of Rs 150000. All undecided bouts were changed to point system and then declared winner on point basis. Special bouts were fought between Rinku and Farman on public demand which was won by Rinku.
Members of Organizing Committee and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of Dangal were President Rajesh Gupta, Committee members Pardeep Khajuria (Director), Ravi Kant Gupta (General Secretary), Rocky Mehra, Rajinder Kumar, Raju, Virinder Kumar, Satish Kharka, Sanjay Khajuira, Anil Kumar, Vishal Raina, Prathit Vikas and Chinu Mehra.
