Bhutoo wins ‘Sur-Ka-Milan’ singing competition

KARGIL, Mar 23:  Altaf Ahmad Bhutoo won the finale of the Sur-Ka-Milan Programme of All India Radio Kargil, while Ahsan Ali claimed second spot in the competition during the Grand Finale-cum-Jashn-e-Nauroz at Auditorium Hall, here today.
Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh was the chief guest and SSP Kargil, Sujit Kumar the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on this occasion were SE Mechanical Ladakh, ASP Kargil Mohammad Younus Bhat and other district officers.
The programme was organized by All India Radio Kargil, in which two papers were presented by Haji Mohammad Baqir and Mohammad Sadiq Hardassi on Nauroz.
Haji Mohammad Baqir presented his paper on Nauroz celebration in context with religious perspective and Mohammad Sadiq Hardassi presented his paper on Nauroz celebration and its cultural importance in the Purig Society.
The Jashn-e-Nauroz celebration was followed by beautiful music and dance items presented by various Cultural Troops presenting the diverse culture of Kargil.
Appreciating the role and importance of AIR Kargil amongst the people of Kargil, the chief guest said that AIR Kargil is the most popular media in Purig and is working in the preservation of the culture, tradition and ethnicity in Kargil.
In the second half of the celebration the Grand Finale of ‘Sur-Ka-Milan’ Singing Competition Programme of AIR Kargil was conducted before audiences and more than 500 people in the jam packed Auditorium witnessed the finale.
Producer of the Programme, Nissar Naseem told that the Programme was started in December 2013 and around 25 participants from all over Kargil participated, out of which Altaf Ahmed Bhutoo from Kashmir and Ahsan Ali from Chanigound Kargil reached the finale.
Altaf Ahmed presented Hindi songs and a Kashmiri song which were appreciated by the audiences, while Ahsan Ali presented one Shina and two Hindi songs which were appealing. On the basis of the live performance of the two finalists, the judges adjudged Altaf Ahmed Bhutto as the winner of ‘Sur-Ka-Milan’ Programme.
SSP Kargil Sujit Kumar presented certificates and cheque of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 to the winner and runners-up singer respectively.
Ramesh Kumar, AD(E) AIR Kargil presented vote of thanks, while the programme was anchored by Bashir Ahmad Wafa and Nusrat Akhtar.
