JAMMU, June 23: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)-Jammu Zone collaborated with Xtreeme Motors and NGO Support to orchestrate a powerful statement against drug abuse through a motorcycle rally under the theme “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life”.
The event aimed to raise awareness and advocate for a drug-free society, echoing a collective call to action from bikers, Xtreeme Motors, and NGO Support.
Harish Kumar, Assistant Director of NCB Jammu Zonal Unit, inspired participants with an anti-drug message as he flagged off the rally.
He highlighted the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada” from June 12th to 26, 2024, encompassing a series of awareness programs across various institutions, NCC camps, railways stations, bus stands, and malls.
“We are committed to building a drug-free society,” affirmed Harish Kumar, underscoring NCB’s dedication to combating drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
The event garnered support from Dr Navneet Kaur, Founder Chairperson of NGO Support, and Rtn Jagpreet Singh Dutta, MD of Xtreeme Motors, who expressed appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of the bikers.
Dr Kaur emphasized the extensive detrimental effects of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society at large.
In observance of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Dr Navneet Kaur urged individuals and NGOs to augment government initiatives aimed at eradicating the drug menace and fostering a healthier, drug-free society.
Over 50 bikers took part in the rally, receiving certificates of appreciation from Harish Kumar, Raj Kumar Shaw, Superintendent, JD Singh, and Dr Navneet Kaur.
The event was supported by the Royal Riders Adventure Club, Xtreeme Motors, and NGO Support, drawing praise from attendees including Rotarian Arvind Kotwal, Narinder Madaan, Gurneets Singh, Harveer Madaan, and staff from NCB, Rotary Intl, Xtreeme Motors, Royal Enfield, and NGO Support.
Dr Navneet Kaur echoed, “We cannot let the global drug problem continue to cast a shadow over the lives of millions of people, especially young children.”
The rally marked a significant step forward in the fight against drug abuse, facilitated by collaborative efforts aimed at creating a safer and more resilient community.
