JAMMU, June 23: U-17 Boys and Girls J&K-UT Level Wrestling Championship culminated at Jammu University, here today.
The championship was organized by the Wrestling Association of J&K under the auspices of Wrestling Federation of India, J&K Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association. Dawood Iqbaq Baba (Director Physical Education and Sports of Jammu University) was the chief guest, while Jai Bharat (General Secretary), Dheeraj Sharma (Former National Wrestler) and Om Parkash Treasurer Wrestling Association of J&K also present there.
In the two days-long championship a large number of wrestlers from different districts from J&K participated. Dawood Iqbaq baba lauded the efforts of organizers for conducting the championship and appreciated the winning wrestlers.
The medal winners in the championship were; in 45 kg Jaiveer Singh -gold and Anshu Kumar-silver. In 51kg Kaka Singh-gold and Palam Kumar-silver. In 55kg Rohit Singh-gold, Abhinash Kumar-silver and Satvik Verma- bronze. In 60kg Vansh Sharma-gold, Tarun Singh-silver and Bishish Chib- bronze. In 65kg Ansar Khan-gold, Kifaitullah Zarger-silver and Azmat Ali- bronze. In 71kg Ranbir Singh-gold, Purab singh-silver and Karan Singh- bronze. In 80kg Anshu Sharma-gold and Roshan Lal-silver. In 92 kg Iqbal Choudhary -gold, Abhishek Singh-silver and Yuvraj Sharma- bronze. In 110kg Mohd. Yousaf-gold and Jaidev Singh-silver. The prominent persons Swarn Lal, Ravinder Sharma, Krishan Singh, Roshan Sharma, Anil Kumar and Raj Kumar were present on the occasion.
