FARIDABABD, June 23: The Jammu and Kashmir National United Front (JKNUF) held a Core Committee meeting here, today.
In a statement Rakesh Handoo, president of JKNUF, said the Core Committee has resolved to take proactive steps in the political arena. The Committee announced its intention to field candidates in every constituency in Kashmir for the upcoming elections. This strategic move aims to ensure that the voices and concerns of the Kashmiri Pandit community are represented and addressed at the legislative level.
The party emphasized the importance of community involvement in this crucial decision. Before finalizing their candidates, JKNUF will seek suggestions and feedback from the Kashmiri Pandit community. This approach underscores the party’s commitment to a democratic process and to ensuring that their agenda aligns with the needs and aspirations of their community members.
One of the primary agenda items for JKNUF will be addressing the issue of reparation for the Kashmiri Pandits’ genocide. The party is dedicated to formulating a comprehensive plan that seeks justice and reparation for the victims. To this end, JKNUF invites all members of the community to contribute their suggestions and ideas to help shape this agenda.
JKNUF remains steadfast in its commitment to advocating for the rights and recognition of the Kashmiri Pandit community. The party looks forward to a collaborative effort in making meaningful strides toward justice and reparation.
The party also expressed disappointment that Prime Minister during his recent visit to Kashmir which was the seventh trip by him to the region since 2014, lacked any mention of the Kashmiri Pandits’ the genocide victims. While the Prime Minister acknowledged various communities, he failed to address the plight of Kashmiri Pandits (KPs), a community that has endured significant suffering and displacement, Handoo said.
