Thief arrested in Sanura village

SAMBA, June 23: A thief was caught red-handed and handed over to the police today in broad daylight in Sanura village, which falls under Ghagwal Police Station of district Samba.
According to the information received, the thieves broke into the house of an army personnel, Tara Chand, son of Sardari Lal when all the members of the house were out. The army personnel himself was on duty and other members had gone to participate in the Satsang. The thieves were about to decamp with valuables when suddenly the members of the house reached there. They saw the door open and the items scattered from the Almirah. They were shocked to see this.
A female member of the house saw a thief hiding inside the house, after which she cleverly closed the door from outside and informed former Sarpanch, Kulbhushan Singh about it. He along with police rushed to the spot and caught one thief while his associates fled from the spot.
On receiving the news of the incident, a large number of villagers reached the spot and started demanding strict action against the thieves. According to sources, two other absconding thieves have been arrested from different areas of Kathua district and an Alto Car has also been recovered by the police from their possession. While the thief caught in the village has been detained by Rajpura police and the police is continuously interrogating the three arrested thieves.
District Development Council (DDC) member Rajpura Asha Rani, former BDC Chairman, Radheshyam Sharma, former Sarpanch and BJP Mandal president Kulbhushan Singh, Rajesh Jasrotia and others who reached the spot have demanded strict action against the thieves.
