Taekwondo C’ship concludes in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, June 26: A Taekwondo Championship organised by J&K Taekwondo Association under the aegis of Taekwondo Federation of India and supported by the J&K Sports Council under the theme ‘My Youth My Pride’ concluded here today.
The event took place at the Indoor Hall, Polo View, Srinagar. Maqsood-ul-Zaman, SSP Traffic Srinagar was the chief guest during the inaugural event. Around 250 Taekwondo athletes from various districts and clubs of the Kashmir division participated in the championship.
The closing ceremony was graced by chief guest Javaid Ahmad, (Sports Officer Central, JKSC). A panel of expert referees including Aquib Gulzar, Shah Faiq, Mohsin Ahmad, Suwaid Ahmad, Vikas, Haris Hamid, Sameer Sodhi and Adeeba Khursheed ensured fair play and adherence to international standards.
The event was supported by a dedicated team of volunteers including Adnan, Azmat, Nazira, Arbaaz, Azad, Danish, and Zaid. The leadership of the J&K Taekwondo Association included President Rajesh Pangotra, General Secretary Ramesh Chander Sharma, Treasurer Amit Gupta, Senior Vice President Dr S.M. Bali, Vice Presidents Mohd Sayeed (J) and Nissar Hussain (K), and Joint Secretaries Adv Neelofer (K) and Anuj Sharma (J).
