KATRA, Mar 25: Ranjit Singh won in table tennis singles, while the pair of SK Sharma and Vishal Singh registered wins in table tennis doubles event in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Staff’s Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament of Bhawan Zone at Shridhar Complex, here today.
In TT men’s singles, Ranjit Singh defeated Charan Dass by (21-8, 21-16); JK Jha got better of Pushap Kumar by (21-15, 21-14), Jagdish Chand prevailed over Bhagwan Singh (21-13, 21-14) and SP Sharma outplayed Satish Kumar by (21-14, 21-18).
In TT women’s singles, Punam Bhau drubbed Neha Manhas by (21-8, 21-14).
Earlier, the Tournament was declared open by Ranjit Singh, SDM Bhawan Katra in an impressive, well attended and colourful function.
Prominent among those present on the inaugural function were Sandeep Sharma, Tehsildar; Arjun Singh, Manager Bhawan; PL Sharma, DySP Bhawan; Sudesh Sharma, Accounts Officer; Bhawan; Attar Singh Choudhary and Dr Punam Bhau.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB.
