SRINAGAR, Mar 26: High Court today directed the Secretary Union of India and Union Public Service Commission to consider the claim of retired SSP Ashaq Hussian Bukhari, for induction into Indian Police Service (IPS).
Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey observed that “delay in each day would cause great prejudice to the petitioner. Therefore, there is no option left to the court but to direct the respondents to comply with the order.”
The court directed the Selection Committee constituted by the Government to take a decision regarding induction of the petitioner in IPS, ignoring communication, dated 11, 3, 2014 issued by UPSC asking the State Government to provide updated seniority list.
The petitioner, Bukhari, has recently retired as SSP Srinagar, and has now filed a petition in the court seeking induction into IPS.
The court had earlier directed the Government to forward Bukhari’s case for induction into IPS for the year 2010 to the Selection Committee constituted under IPSR regulation before his retirement.
