JAMMU, Mar 28: Simula Club and Samar Club registered wins over their rivals to enter into the finals of the ongoing 2nd Christmas Cricket Twenty-20 cup, being organized jointly by Range Police Headquarters Jammu and Christian Sports Organization J&K at KC Sports Club Ground , here.
Simula Club registered emphatic win against Delhi Club in an easy contest.
Batting first, Simula Club made a decent total of 175 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Hardeep Singh scored 51 runs off 32 balls, while Atul contributed 51 off 38 balls. Anshuman also contributed 31 runs to the total. Sachin and Anuj took 2 wickets each, whereas Abhishek, Abhisheh Sharma and Kapil took 1 wicket apiece for Delhi Cricket Club.
In reply, Delhi Club bundled out for 110 runs in the allotted 20 overs, thus lost the match by 65 runs. Nishant Rana top scored with 25 runs in 23 balls, while Anuj contributed 22 runs to the total. Dhruv Mahajan, Hardeep Singh, Mohit Puri and Vivek Thappa took 2 wickets each, while Atul and Sameer Khajuria claimed one wicket each. Hardeep Singh of Simula Club was adjudged man of the match.
In another match, Samar Club beat Jammu Gymkhana by a narrow margin of 10 runs.
Batting first Samar Club scored 150 runs in allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets with Karan 39 runs, Jasvinder 31 runs and Monu 20 runs were the main scorers. Tribuvan took 2 wickets, Akash, Hitesh, Rahul and Sahil took 1 wicket each for Jammu Gymkhana.
In reply Jammu Gymkhana could not chase the target and managed to score 140 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets, thus lost the match by 10 runs. Nipun Verma top scored with 55 runs, while Jagandeep contributed 26 runs to the total. Noushad took 4 wickets, while Rohit and Sourav shared I wicket each for Samar Club. Noushad of Samar Club was declared man of the match.
