Seminar on ‘Concept of Social Exclusion, Inclusion in Indian History’ ends at JU

JAMMU Mar 28 : The Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy organized a three-day National Seminar from March 26-28, on the theme “Concept of Social Exclusion and Inclusion in Indian History”.
Thirty three research papers were presented in the seminar. Two Academic Sessions were held in the last day of the seminar. The first academic session was presided by Prof. I. D. Gaur, Punjab University, Chandigarh and 9 Research papers were presented covering the issues pertaining to women, Schedule Castes, psychoactive patients etc. The 2nd Academic Session was presided by Prof. Suman Jamwal,  Department of History, University of Jammu and  research papers were presented covering literary and social perceptions of we and others.
The academic session were followed by the valedictory function, presided by Prof. Surinder Singh, Punjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. Jigar Mohammad, Director of the seminar welcomed the delegates and sought the opinion of the delegates regarding the academic aspects of the seminar. Most of them suggested that these papers are to be published incorporating the points suggested by the participants of the seminar during discussion of the papers. They also explained that the publication of the proceedings of the seminar may be instrumental in discouraging practices of exclusion in Indian society leading to the inclusive growth.
The valedictory function was attended by Prof. I. D. Gaur, Prof. Arti Bakshi, Prof. Abha Chowhan, Dr. Shyam Narayan Lal, Dr. Idris and Research Scholars of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Arts. The Academic and management aspects of the seminar were meticulously handled by Ainee Ambreen, Organizing secretary of the seminar.
Dr. Ranjeet Kalra presented vote of thanks in a very lucid manner.
