KATHUA, July 10: The spirit of traditional wrestling came alive at the prestigious Sirnu Kesri Dangal, where Kabir emerged victorious after fierce competition from wrestlers hailing from Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jammu, Kathua, Himachal Pradesh, and beyond.
The event held amidst cheers and enthusiasm from local communities, culminated in an exhilarating final match where Kabir secured the coveted victory.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Bindra Ban, ex-Sarpanch of Panchayat Sitti, who presided as the chief guest. Dr. Rameshwar Singh, accompanied by Gori Shankar, leader of DAP, Sarpanch Gatti Sushil Kumar and ex-Sarpanch Chandal Roshan Manhas were the special guests.
Dr Rameshwar Singh presented the final award, emphasizing the significance of celebrating local traditions such as Dangal with fervour and pride, underscoring their vital role in preserving the cultural fabric of our villages.
