Fraudsters trying to lure cricketers for selection trials: JKCA

JAMMU, July 11: Through a video on social media, a group of fraudsters are trying to lure young cricketers of Jammu and Kashmir to participate in cricket trials on a specific date in the ongoing month at Jammu.
This has been informed by Brigadier Anil Gupta, Member-Administration Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) through a press statement and a video message issued today.
Brigadier Gupta said that with an aim to loot budding cricketers and pool money, some so-called organisers are desperate and are leaving no stone unturned to attract aspiring cricketers towards their nefarious purpose of holding selection trials in Jammu.
“A video has been circulated on social media wherein it is said that cricket trials will be held in Jammu in the ongoing month. The so-called organisers of the trials have demanded entry fees to be eligible for the trials. I, on behalf of JKCA want to clear one and all that it is a fraud and no such trials are going to help the cause of cricketers. JKCA is not holding any such trials and will never demand any fees for the same. I advise young cricketers not to fall prey to these fraudsters, who have the sole aim to pool money. The aspirants are advised to take part in JKCA trials only in order to blossom in the future,” maintained Brig Gupta.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is not the first time that the fraudsters are using social media tools for luring cricketers. Earlier, some fraudsters used the name of National Cricket Academy (NCA) to pool money. “Beware of such looters,” added Brig Gupta.
