JAMMU, July 12: The 1st J&K Open Table Tennis Championship commenced at Indoor Sports Complex MA Stadium here today. The championship was officially declared open by chief guest Divisional Sports Officer (DSO), Jammu division, Baljinder Pal Singh. The chief guest appreciated organizers for organizing the championship and also encouraged the players during the occasion.
The tournament is being organized by Moon Table Tennis Academy, Jammu in collaboration with J&K Table Tennis Association and under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, under the initiative “My Youth My Pride”
Around 200 players are participating in the championship which will be a two-day long affair. The first round of Cadet Boys & Cadet Girls singles were underway till the last reports came in. Prominent among those who were present include Suraj Bhan, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan and Narinder Singh. The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh, Vasu Dewan & Asad Sharma.
