Bovine smuggler booked under PSA

SAMBA, Mar 30: Samba Police arrested a notorious bovine smuggler wanted under Public Safety Act (PSA) who was evading arrest for last three months.
According to SSP Samba, Anil Magotra, Mohammed Hussian, son of Lal Hussian of Manohar Ghopla of Samba who along with Mohamed Iqbal alias Iqbal son of Noor Ali of Madhera Samba were involved in animal thefts and bovine smuggling and on whom the PSA was slapped earlier this year.
Though police arrested Iqbal soon after slapping PSA on the duo, Hussian was evading arrest.
The SSP said late last night a team of Samba police led by Abid Rashid Mir DySP Prob and assisted by SI Khalid Ahmed Incharge P P Sapwal was constituted by him to arrest the absconder. The police team on a tip off arrested bovine smuggler from a marriage party in the town.
He is involved in various cases of bovine smuggling in the State and Police had launched a man hunt for him, SSP added.
The SSP said the police earlier this year after compiling all the records of the two persons from various police stations of the district and other districts prepared their dossiers and issued warrants against them under PSA from district Magistrate Samba to prevent them from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities.
Mr Magotra said Samba police got executed the PSA warrant against Mohammed Iqbal immediately and he was sent to District jail Samba while his accomplice was evading arrest.
