JAMMU, Mar 31: President, Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM), Sunil Dimple, has expressed great shock over the news item appeared in the media that the Election Commission (EC) had seized 2 vehicles carrying cash meant for distributing among voters, and has urged the EC to derecognize such parties and cancel the candidature of accused candidates.
“The incident of seizure of the cash from the vehicles has left the voters distrusted. They have lost faith on Congress, NC, BJP and other political parties, which are trying to influence the voters on one pretext or the other”, he added.
“On one day a NC Minister in the Valley taking advantage of its ministerial post insists the voters to swear on the name of Quran and to campaign for them and on the other day cash is seized from the vehicles of the Congress Party to influence the voters”, he said, and questioned whether free and fair elections are possible in such atmosphere.
He strongly urged the Election Commission to derecognize parties involved in such malpractices and ban the accused candidates and cancel their candidature.
