SRINAGAR, July 21: A meeting of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Society (PSCWS) J&K was held under the chairmanship of its president, Mir Gh Rasool Batvani here, today in which burning issues of retired employees of Handloom Development Corporation were discussed.
The meeting expressed concern that pending dues of retired employees of Corporation for last six years including retirement dues, Gratuity, cash in lieu of leave salary, arrears on account of 6th and 7th Pay Commission, besides present serving employees are without salaries for the last two years.
The meeting appealed to the LG J&K, Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter and issue directives to concerned authorities to release all dues to the employees and pensioners of Handloom Development Corporation as they are not having any source of income. The meeting said their families are unnecessary suffering for want of livelihood in absence of money even they are unable to purchase medicines for them and other members of their families’ for survival.
Other members who participated in the meeting included Sheikh Gh Mohi-ud-Din Shilvati, D N Sadhu, Baldev Raj, G M Shungloo and Mohd Subhan Dar.
The meeting also demanded release of the due instalment of DA to employees and pensioners besides rescinding of Government order asking the pensioners to approach the concerned treasury officers for their verification.
