POONCH, July 21: A 30-years-old villager was injured when a bear attacked him in Arai Malkan area of Mandi tehsil in district Poonch last night.
The family members told police that Liaqat came out of his house for some work at about 10:30 pm on Saturday night when a bear suddenly attacked and left him injured. The neighbours rescued him and later he was taken to District Hospital Poonch for treatment.
Medical Superintendent DH Poonch Dr. Nusrat Bhatti identified the victim as Liaqat Hussain (30), son of Mohd Sharief, resident of Arai Malkan. Bhatti said that after initial treatment injured was shifted to GMC Rajouri, Medical Superintendent GMC Rajouri Dr Mehmood Bajar said that he was treated here as well and later shifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
