NEW DELHI, Apr 2: Cardamom prices rose for the third straight day by adding 0.72 per cent to Rs 917.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by strong demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May added Rs 6.60, or 0.72 per cent, to Rs 917.20 per kg in a business turnover of 234 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in April gained Rs 3.80, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 871.40 per kg in 153 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged positions on strong demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions that mainly led to an upward trend in cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
