Inter-School Zonal level competition begins in Poonch

POONCH, July 23: In the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Chess and Badminton, the Inter School competition commenced here today.
The Zonal level competitions in the age group of U-17 (Boys) began at Shaheed Manjeet Singh Memorial Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch with great enthusiasm. Chief guest of the opening ceremony was District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Mool Raj Uttam while Rupinder Kour Principal of the school was guest of honour. The other dignitaries were Sarfraz Ahmed Vice Principal, Narinder Singh ZPEO Poonch and Pawan Kumar.
Around 300 boys in the Under-17 age group took part in this competition as a part of an activity calendar issued by Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K. Earlier the August gathering was welcomed by Zonal Physical Education officer Poonch, Narinder Singh and gave detailed information of the event.
The surely of the day in Kabaddi; High School Degwar Terwan remained overall winner by outplayed High School Banwat, while in Kho Kho; Nanak Academy remained winner and Govt High School Ajote ended the event as runner-ups.
In Volleyball; Nanak Academy remained overall champion and Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Poonch was runner-up. In Chess competitions, Nanak Academy clinched the top spot while Govt High school Purani Poonch was runner-up and in Badminton; Christ School Poonch remained winners and Boys higher secondary school Poonch ended as runner-up.
