Heritage School Jammu holds ‘Science Behind Science’ event

JAMMU, July 27: Heritage School Jammu organized the “Science Behind Science” event, engaging students from primary and secondary classes in various scientific activities. Designed to inspire curiosity and foster creativity, the event integrated artistic skills with scientific concepts, going beyond traditional textbook learning.
The secondary section’s highlights included poster-making for classes VI to VIII, where students showcased their understanding of scientific concepts through vibrant posters. The inter-House Collage and Rangoli-making competition for Class IX emphasized creativity in communicating complex ideas. Quiz competitions and debates were held across classes VI to IX, promoting critical thinking and public speaking skills.
In the primary wing, the Science Month initiative began on July 10, featuring activities such as yoga, aerobics, quizzes, spin the wheel, speaking activities, coloring, show and tell, role play, and poem recitation. These activities aimed to ignite curiosity and foster a deeper understanding of scientific principles in an engaging manner.
Principal Akash Pradhan and Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur were among dignitaries during the closing ceremony. The finale featured a role play where students posed critical questions about humanity’s role in preserving the environment. Winners of various competitions were felicitated, including Aayat Tariq, Sanvi Kundal, and Saanvi Sharma in the poster-making contest, and Kashvi Choudhary, Samaira Mahajan, Kibreya, and Sharanya Mahajan in the Rangoli competition. The quiz and debate winners from different grades were also recognized.
Principal Pradhan praised the Science Department for their outstanding organization and emphasized the school’s commitment to future educational programs. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Jyotsana Malviya, Head of the Science Department.
