RS PURA, Apr 3: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Yash Pal Sharma today said that parties like Congress, BJP and National Conference (NC) have always betrayed refugees of all types.
Addressing series of public meetings in connection with his road shows in R S Pura and Suchetgarh Assembly segments, Sharma said that except exploitation nothing has been done to solve problems of these refugees. He said that being a refugee himself, he was aware of the hardships being faced by these helpless people who have been struggling for the compensation and other demands since 1947.
Sharma said that PDP has promised one-time settlement of refugees from other side of the Kashmir and adequate compensation for other refugees.
While addressing series of meetings in border areas, Sharma said that prevailing peace on the borders was result of the peace and reconciliatory policies being propagated by PDP.
Calling upon people to throw out present corrupt dispensation, Sharma said that this regime has crossed all limits of corruption and nepotism. Instead of taking some effective steps to control corruption in the administration this regime has legalized the corruption through its actions, he added.
“Institutions meant for curbing corruption have been deliberately made defunct by this regime”, he said and pointed towards defunct State Accountability Commission and casual approach of the Government to make the Right to Information Commission functional in the State.
Former Rajya Sabha member, Trilok Singh Bajwa, lambasted the State Government for its failure to solve day today problems of the common masses. He said that miseries of the people have been increased manifold after formation of this regime which was formed without any policy.
