JAMMU, July 28: Myrah Dewan successfully defended her under-13 girls’ title in the ongoing 2nd J&K Table Tennis Ranking Championships 2024 held at M.A Stadium, Jammu. In the finals, Myrah defeated her younger sibling Syrah Dewan by three games to one. The semi-finals saw dominant performances from both finalists, with Myrah defeating Alena by three games to nil and Syrah overcoming the experienced Srishti Kapoor by three games to one.
In the under-13 boys’ finals, Saiyam Nischel emerged victorious in a fierce battle against Aadvik Garg. Saiyam, coming back from two games to one down, defended three match points in the final game and clinched the title by taking the final game by 12-10, winning the match and championship by three games to two.
Other results of the day in different categories were; Sub Junior (Under 15) Girls Semi Finals: Myrah beat Syrah by 3-0 – Nitya beat Arushika by 3-0. In Sub Junior (Under 15) Boys Semi Finals: – Ritvik beat Saiyam by 3-0 – Ahaan beat Samar by 3-2. In Junior Boys (Under 17) Quarter Finals: Ritvik beat Saiyam by 3-0 and Samarth beat Aahan by 3-1 – Satyam beat Gourav by 3-1 and Hunny beat Pranit by 3-1.
Junior Girls (Under 17) Quarter Finals: Nitya beat Chitrani by 3-0 – Myrah beat Gunjan by 3-0 – Arushika beat Srishti by 3-0 and Mishti beat Anvi by 3-0. In Junior Girls (Under 19) Semi Finals: Nitya beat Arya by 3-0 and Mishti beat Arushika by 3-0.
The prominent persons present were Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Satvir Singh, I.P. Singh, Vasu Dewan, Narinder Singh and Sheetal Gandotra. The matches were officiated by Meenu Rajesh, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all participants.
