JAMMU, Apr 4: Cautioning people against evil designs of BJP, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz today said that ideology of BJP was threat to the national integration and communal harmony.
Addressing a function organized by former Minister Yogesh Sawhney and Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) vice president Pranav Shagotra in support of Congress candidate Madan Lal Sharma at Gumaat Bazaar area of Jammu East, Prof Soz sought support of the people to strengthen democratic and secular forces in state.
He made it clear that so-called Modi wave was creation of a section of media but on ground there was coalition wave in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that people will vote on the development done by the State and Central Governments. He reiterated that the State has witnessed tremendous development in all spheres of life under the coalition regime.
Without naming BJP and its Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Prof Soz said that emergence of divisive forces was against brotherhood and national integration of the country. He said that the politics of the hatred is a dangerous campaign for the country and urged the people to reject the communal and divisive forces and strengthen the secular and progressive forces in order to strengthen the unity and integrity of the nation and the state.
He said that foundation of this country has been laid on secular ideals which are strength of our nation and we should not allow weakening this at any cost and urged the people to reject such kind of forces who are posing threat to the secular fabric of the nation.
Soz said that Congress led UPA Govt during past 10 yeas took historical steps which strengthened the democracy and development in all fronts. He referred steps like RTI Act, which has given a forceful tool to people to expose corruption at any level, Right to Food and Right to Work, Right to Education apart from establishment of Panchayati Raj system in the country by bringing 73rd Amendment, which strengthen the democracy at grass root level.
