Vote for coalition candidates must for peace in J&K: Mir

PULWAMA, Apr 6: Maintaining that vote for coalition candidates is must for peace and prosperity of the State, Minister for Tourism and senior Congress Leader, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, has appealed people to vote in favour of coalition candidates in order to strengthen secular and progressive approach.
Addressing huge public gatherings today at Pulwama, Rajpora, Kokapora, Jamnagari and Nikhas in twin districts of Shopian and Pulwama, Mir said Congress played an important role in the development and prosperity of entire country in general and State of Jammu and Kashmir in particular.
“Today people should come out and strengthen the roots of democracy in J&K by participating in the Lok -Sabha poll process and voting for the National Conference-Congress candidates fielded in the six constituencies in the State.
The Congress leader said present elections were a direct contest between secular and communal ideology and people have to “decide which future they want to choose for themselves and for their next generations”.
Maintaining that creation of new administrative units, hospitals, medical colleges and anti-graft laws were some of the landmark achievements of the Coalition Government, he radiated confidence that the party will get massive mandate in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Alleging that the State is crisscrossing on the path of normalcy and attempts being made to derail this process, he asked people to maintain unity and not allow the situation to take such a turn where hate mongers have a field day to vitiate the atmosphere.
The election rally was also addressed by Mohammad Anwar Bhat, vice-president, JKPCC, Hilal Ahmad Shah, organising secretary and other leaders of the Party.
