Excise Deptt holds TT tourney in Udhampur, Cricket match at Poonch

UDHAMPUR/POONCH, Aug 7: The Excise Department organized two significant sports events aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and discouraging drug abuse.
In Udhampur, the Excise Range held a Table Tennis tournament at the Indoor Sports Hall, Subash Stadium, under the theme “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life,” as part of the “Swachhata Pakhwada–The Shuchita Sangram” initiative. Directed by Excise Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kusum Sharma, the tournament saw participation from 50 players. Chief Guest Joginder Singh Jasrotia, Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, encouraged the youth to engage in sports and avoid drug abuse. All participants received appreciation certificates and refreshments, while winners were awarded merit certificates and trophies.
Meanwhile, the Excise Department hosted an exciting U-14 cricket match at the Sports Stadium in Poonch. The game featured a face-off between the Rahul Dravid Cricket Club and the Ehsas Cricket Club. The Rahul Dravid Cricket Club emerged victorious, showcasing remarkable skill and sportsmanship. The event was attended by ETO Excise Department Poonch-Rajouri Suraj Prakash, Inspector Arif, and notable figures from RDCC, including Molvi Freed, Imtiaz Salaria, and Parvaiz Malik Afridi. Commentary was provided by Ajaz Malik, with scoring managed by Syed Talat Waseem.
