39th Jammu District Badminton C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Aug 7: The 39th Jammu District Badminton Championships concluded at the Badminton Hall, M.A. Stadium, here today. Organized by the Jammu City & District Badminton Association in collaboration with the Badminton Association of J&K (BAJK) and the J&K Sports Council, the event featured a diverse range of competitions across multiple age groups.
Chander Parkash Ganga, former Minister of J&K and President of BAJK, was the chief guest on the occasion who presented prizes to the winners and runners-up. He highlighted the role of sports in positively channeling youth energy and encouraged increased participation in future events.
The event was supervised by Chief Referee Rahul Sharma, with support from badminton coaches Tousif Ahmed, Vikram Saini, Divum Gupta, and Sukhdev Singh.
The results in different categories were in the Boys U-11 category, Utkarsh emerged as the winner, while Tara Shan won in the Girls U-11. Harsh Sharma and Eleena Singh took the titles in Boys U-13 and Girls U-13, respectively. In the U-15 Singles, Karanveer Singh and Shani Sharma were the winners. The U-15 Doubles saw Kartik and Kanishk winning in the boys’ category, and Suhani and Gaina in the girls. Shourya Pratham won in Boys U-17 and Boys U-19, with Snowy Goswami taking the Girls U-17 title. The Men’s Singles winner was Raghav Dogra, and the Men’s Doubles title went to Raghav and Nalin.
