Jammu Colleges host patriotic competitions

JAMMU, Aug 8: The Literary Club of Government College of Education, Jammu, organized a quiz competition on the Indian Freedom Struggle, drawing enthusiastic participation from students. The event, structured in multiple rounds, tested knowledge on significant events and personalities of India’s independence movement. Rekha and Nidhi Baghat of B.Ed. Semester IV emerged victorious, while Sanchi and Palak Sharma, and Akash and Jagmohan Kour secured second and third positions. Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal, praised the event’s success, highlighting its role in fostering historical awareness and national pride among the participants. Six teams participated in the competition.
Meanwhile, Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, held a series of vibrant intra-college competitions ahead of Independence Day 2024, under the leadership of Principal Dr SP Sarswat. The events, marked by patriotic zeal, began with a National Anthem singing competition, where Bhavna Kanwar of Semester 3rd secured first place and will represent the college at an inter-college competition at GCW Parade. The celebrations continued with a painting competition on Freedom Struggle, won by Trisha Khajuria of Semester 3rd, and an essay writing competition, where Manvi Rajput of Semester 5th claimed the first prize. The day concluded with a quiz competition on India’s independence movement, reinforcing the spirit of unity and patriotism.
