SAI appoints Aman as Training Centre Jammu Head

JAMMU, Aug 10: Aman Sharma, a prominent figure in Indian sports and a proud “Son of the Soil,” has been appointed as the head of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre in Jammu.
Aman Sharma’s career is marked by significant achievements in the field of basketball. He has served as the Head Coach of the Indian National Men’s Basketball team, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the future of the sport in the country. Additionally, he has been a faculty member at the Academic Department of Basketball at NIS Bengaluru, imparting his knowledge to the next generation of coaches and players.
His administrative acumen is also well-regarded, having held the position of Stadium Administrator at the SAI Headquarters in New Delhi. Furthermore, Sharma chairs the Talent Research wing of the Basketball Federation of India, contributing to the development of young talent across the nation.
An overall topper of the 29th batch of NIS Patiala, Sharma also served with distinction at the Army Boys Sports Company of the Jat Regiment for 10 years. Beyond his coaching and administrative roles, he is the General Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Basketball Association and has contributed to the media through articles and special programs, highlighting sports in the region.
