KALAKOTE, Apr 9: Ashok Sharma, senior Congress leader and former Legislator has emphasized the urgent need for establishing the institution of Lok Ayukta to effectively curb corruption and ensure good governance.
Interacting with party activists at Barian, Argi, Dhangri, Tatapani and Soom in Kalakote Assembly constituency yesterday, Mr Sharma launded the bold and historic legislation passed by the UPA Government for the welfare of the people. He said that MGNREGA, Food Security, Land Acquisition, RTI and other such Legislation have made a real difference in the empowerment of people.
Senior Congress leader strongly pleaded for augmenting water and power supply, availability of ration, ensuring adequate number of teachers in all the institution of Kalakote Assembly constituency and providing immediate compensation to farmers whose standing crops have been affected due to recent rains.
