BHADERWAH, Aug 19: The SGFI-Khelo India Under-19 Zonal tournament kicked off here today. This three-day event aims to promote sports among rural youth by providing them with a professional platform to showcase their talents.
A total of 300 students, including 150 girls from the Higher Secondary School of Bhaderwah zone, will compete in 21 different sports such as Kabaddi, Volleyball, Kho-Kho, Chess, Handball and Badminton.
Zonal Physical Education Officer Vijay Kumar Kotwal emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Khelo India program’s goals, supporting the growth of sports at the grassroots level and helping to develop and highlight raw talent.
