JAMMU : Union Minister for Health and Congress candidate from Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary Constituency Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that there is no BJP wave across the country and it is confined only to media.
“BJP’s wave is confined only in media and some urban centres but in majority of the India, there is no such wave,” Mr Azad said while addressing a series of meetings in Reasi and Udhampur districts.
“On ground there is strong wave in favour of Congress party,” he said and added that like in the past, the NDA is playing colourful music and distributing sweets in anticipation of winning the polls, but it will meet the same fate as in 2004 and 2009.
“The UPA Government has performed remarkably well. You don’t get misguided by tall promises,” he said, adding, “Congress spoke about the poor and the common people. The party has always worked for unity and development of the country.”
Meanwhile on creation of new administrative units in J&K, the Union Minister said, “creation of eight new districts during my tenure as chief minister followed by setting up of hundreds of new administrative units by ruling NC-Congress coalition Government headed by chief minister Omar Abdullah, will definitely bring revolutionary changes in rural, remote and hilly belts of J&K.”
