JAMMU, Aug 24: International Delhi Public School (IDPS) Jammu inaugurated its cutting-edge Virtual Reality (VR) Lab and Newsroom, IDPS NEWSIE, marking a significant advancement in educational technology and media training.
The VR Lab, the first of its kind in the Jammu region, was launched by VR 360 Labs and managed by Aquaplex Entertainment Private Limited. This state-of-the-art facility aims to enhance student learning through immersive experiences, promoting creativity, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of various subjects.
Equipped with advanced VR headsets and controllers, the Lab offers the students opportunities to explore historical sites, dissect virtual organisms, and engage in a wide range of interactive educational activities.
The Newsroom, IDPS NEWSIE, is designed to cultivate students’ journalistic skills, critical thinking, and communication abilities. This new facility emphasizes the importance of preparing students for the digital age, providing a platform for them to express their ideas, develop their writing skills, and understand journalism ethics.
Prof Manoj K Dhar, Director of the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), was the chief guest at the inauguration. In his address, he highlighted the transformative potential of the integration of VR into education in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The event was attended by key figures from IDPS, including chairpersons Manisha Choudhary and Arunima Choudhary, managing directors Suminder Singh and Swaran Choudhary, and Principal Randeep Wazir. Their presence underscored the significance of these new facilities in enhancing the educational experience at IDPS Jammu.
