SRINAGAR, Aug 24: The District Fencing Championship, organized by the Srinagar District Amateur Fencing Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, concluded today with an awards ceremony honoring the winners.
The event, held under the banner of the J&K Amateur Fencing Association, saw participation from over 50 fencers across various age categories-Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior-from the Srinagar district.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, Manager of Bakshi Stadium Srinagar, who served as the chief guest. Sayar Ahmad, Rehana, and Firdous Ahmad were the guests of honor. They distributed medals to the winners and runners-up.
Commending the athletes for their exceptional performances, Zargar encouraged the young fencers to focus on their training and strive to bring accolades to J&K. He emphasized that discipline, devotion and commitment are the hallmarks of a true sportsperson, leading them to the highest echelons of the sports world.
