Kalra appointed as UT-Level Icon for Assembly elections

JAMMU, Aug 25: Ranjeet Kalra, a notable sports administrator, former cricketer, and academician at Jammu University, has been appointed as the UT-level icon by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, for the upcoming General Elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly in 2024. His appointment is aimed at motivating the general public, particularly the youth and those eligible but not yet registered as voters, to participate in the electoral process. The goal is to ensure that no eligible voter is left behind, aligning with the Election Commission of India’s theme, “No Voter to be Left Behind.”
The appointment was officially made during a brief ceremony at Nirvachan Bhawan, Jammu. Chief Electoral Officer of Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole, presented the appointment letter to Ranjeet Kalra. The ceremony was also attended by Sapna Kotwal, Media Nodal Officer SVEEP, J&K and Akhter Hussain Qazi, Nodal Officer (SVEEP), UT of J&K.
