BUDGAM, Aug 25: The 27th Official District Taekwondo Championship commenced today in Budgam, under the auspices of the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council. The opening ceremony marked the start of a highly anticipated three-day event, which will see participation from over 300 athletes representing various academies and schools from across the district.
The championship, which aims to foster the development of Taekwondo at the grassroots level, will provide a platform for young talent to showcase their skills and compete for top honours. Syed Ashaq Hussain, Chairman of the event, emphasized the importance of this tournament in nurturing the sport and developing future champions.
Competitors will vie for gold medals, with the top performers earning the opportunity to advance to the Official UT Championship.
