REASI, Aug 27: The District Youth Services and Sports Department, Reasi, recently organized a series of inter-zonal competitions featuring Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Kabaddi for U-19 boys and Cricket trials at both the inter-school district level and AAG level. The event saw enthusiastic participation from various zones across the district, including Chassana, Arnas, Mahore, Pouni and Reasi, showcasing their athletic skills and sportsmanship.
The officer also announced the upcoming Kashmir Marathon, scheduled for October 20th on the scenic banks of Dal Lake in Srinagar. The marathon, organized by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory in collaboration with J&K Tourism, is expected to be a major event attracting participants from across the region.
The competitions were a testament to the talent and dedication of the young athletes in the district. Zone Pouni emerged victorious in both Kho-Kho and Kabaddi, defeating Zone Reasi in closely contested matches. In Volleyball, Zone Reasi showcased their skills, winning a thrilling match against Zone Arnas with a 3-2 set victory. The event was conducted under the supervision of Kuldeep Kumar, Activity Incharge, with matches officiated by officials from the DYSS office Reasi.
