BUDGAM, Aug 27: The 27th District Budgam Taekwondo Championship 2024-25 concluded at the Indoor Hall Budgam. The event was organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Budgam with support from the J&K Taekwondo Association and the J&K Sports Council.
The Championships saw enthusiastic participation from athletes of all ages, including Sub-Junior, Cadets, Junior, and Senior Boys and Girls. A. R. Qureshi, President of the Taekwondo Association of District Budgam, led the event, while Nissar Hussain, Senior Vice President of the J&K Taekwondo Association, oversaw its execution.
The closing ceremony featured Abdul Majid Kakroo, Former Captain of the Indian Football Team, as the chief guest. He offered inspiring words to the young athletes. The event also welcomed Om Raina (Engineer), Anjali Om Raina (UT Resource Person, JKSCERT), Dr. Younus, and Umar Sharif, Executive Principal of Foundation World School, as distinguished guests.
The Championships served as a significant platform for young athletes to display their Taekwondo skills and compete at a high level. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the winners for their outstanding performances. The Taekwondo Association of District Budgam expressed their thanks to all participants, officials, and supporters for making the Championships a success.
