KATHUA, Aug 27: As part of the National Sports Week celebrations, GDC Marheen’s Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a Carrom Competition today.
The event was held under the supervision of Prof. (Dr.) Anupama Gupta, Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of sports in promoting a healthy lifestyle and contributing to students’ personal and professional growth.
The competition featured singles matches for men and women. In the men’s category, 11 participants competed, with Neeraj winning first place and Dharmveer securing second. In the women’s category, 25 students participated, with Poonam taking first place and Monika finishing second.
The event, managed by Dr. Balbinder Singh, Physical Director of GDC Marheen, was a success, fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among students and highlighting the college’s commitment to promoting physical fitness.
